Is your CPR certification recognized by employers and healthcare facilities?

Yes. All of our certifications are issued through the American Heart Association (AHA), which is the gold standard recognized by hospitals, clinics, schools, corporations, and government agencies nationwide. Your AHA certification card is valid for 2 years.

What courses do you offer?

We offer two main certifications: Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED and BLS Certification — each available in HeartCode (blended online + in-person skills) or full In-Person format. We also offer a Skills Session Only option for those who have already completed the HeartCode online portion, and Group Training packages for businesses and organizations. All courses are AHA-certified.

How much does CPR certification cost?

Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED: HeartCode skills session — $70 (HeartCode online course purchased separately at ShopCPR.Heart.org); In-Person — $90. BLS Certification: HeartCode skills session — $50 (HeartCode online course purchased separately); In-Person — $85. Group Training: Pricing is based on group size and course type — contact us for a custom quote. Note: AHA course materials (eBook or printed manual) are required for all in-person classes and are not included in the course fee.

How long does a CPR certification class take?

In-person Heartsaver® classes typically run 3–4 hours. In-person BLS classes run 4–5 hours. Hybrid classes shorten the in-person portion to about 1.5 hours since you complete the online coursework beforehand. Skills Session Only appointments are typically 1–1.5 hours.

What is the HeartCode option?

HeartCode is the American Heart Association's blended learning format. You purchase the online course directly from the AHA at ShopCPR.Heart.org — choose Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED or BLS. Complete the online module at your own pace, then email your AHA Certificate of Completion to us and schedule your in-person skills session. Skills sessions take 30–45 minutes — please arrive 15 minutes early to complete paperwork. Skills session fees: Heartsaver $70 · BLS $50.

Do participants receive a physical certification card?

Yes. Every participant who successfully completes a course receives an official AHA certification card valid for 2 years. Please note: all classes are pass/fail — participants must score 84% or higher and demonstrate competency in the required skills to receive their card. No refunds will be given.

Do you offer renewal or refresher courses?

Absolutely. We offer renewal training for individuals and groups whose certifications are expiring. The renewal process is typically shorter than the initial course since participants already have foundational knowledge.

Do I need to travel to a training facility?

No — we come to you. Ivey CPR & Life Safety provides fully on-site training at your location. We bring all necessary equipment including manikins, AED trainers, and training materials. You just need to provide a space large enough for your group.

How much space do we need for on-site training?

You'll need enough floor space for participants to kneel and practice compressions on manikins. A standard conference room or open office area typically works well. For groups of 10 or more, a larger space like a break room, gym, or open floor area is ideal.

Can you accommodate large groups or multiple departments?

Yes. We regularly train large corporate teams, school staffs, and multi-department organizations. We can schedule multiple sessions on the same day or across different days to accommodate your team's availability. Contact us to discuss your group's needs.

How do I book a training session?

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking at least 1–2 weeks in advance to ensure your preferred date and time are available, especially for larger groups. That said, we do our best to accommodate last-minute requests when possible.

Do you offer discounts for large groups or nonprofits?

What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
